A Wellness Journey

I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Ariella Coleman of The Wellness Esquire about my wellness journey. Ariella Coleman is a Los Angeles, California based healthcare and life sciences regulatory attorney who founded The Wellness Esquire in order to shift the legal culture to recognize and value the connection between wellbeing and success.
If you are a lawyer, or any person trying to figure out how to fit time for self-care into your busy life, then this interview is for you.
Here are some of the important questions we answered:
What is wellness?
What are some go-to wellness resources?
How do you fit self-care into a very busy schedule?
How wellness is tied to personal and professional success.
Here's an excerpt:
Ariella: How important is it to bring wellness into the legal industry?
Jamie: So important. Our industry has a bit of a martyr complex, where we feel we will be rewarded for sacrificing everything else for the practice of law. But it doesn’t need to be that way. Balanced people are better people, so balanced lawyers will be better lawyers. Better lawyer means better legal services, and hopefully happier clients as well.
Ariella: Is there anything else you would like to share?
Jamie: Laugh. Be in the moment. Treat yourself with compassion.

I want to hear what wellness means to you, how you fit it into your day, and where you could use support! Email me or schedule a 30 minute call if you'd like a cheerleader, accountability partner, and guide to help you on the way. I coach busy professionals so they can achieve more while doing less; so they can create the lives they truly want, lives that include time and space to work the way they want, to spend time with their kids, to laugh with friends, and to exercise every day: Time and space to do all the things I was told I couldn’t do as a successful lawyer. My work with clients is based upon the principles in my book, The Lawyer, the Lion, & the Laundry: Three Hours to Finding Your Calm in the Chaos, available at www.JamieSpannhake.com.
