When I work with clients as a work-life integration coach, I often hear: "I don't have enough time." I get it. I feel like I don't have enough time too. I have a reframe - a change of perspective - I want to share with you.
Stop saying it.
"But why?" you ask.
Because it doesn't help you. When we repeatedly tell ourselves we don't have enough time, we become victims to time. You don't have enough time? Well, there's nothing you can do about it. Time is what it is. There are 24 hours in a day, 168 hours in a week.
On the other hand, when we say "I have too much to do," we empower ourselves to make changes. Unlike the number of hours in a day, we have some control over what we do in the hours of the day.
What changes are we empowered to make when we know we have too much to do?
Let someone else do some of the things.
Ask for help.
Delegate.
Drop some of our responsibilities and obligations.
Hire someone. Pay someone. Find a service.
Changing the words we use can change our attitude, our motivation, and our outcome.
Give it a try.
