It is presented by Jamie Jackson Spannhake, a practicing attorney, wellness coach, and author of the book The Lawyer, the Lion, & the Laundry: Three Hours to Finding Your Calm in the Chaos, published by Attorney at Work Publishing (Oct. 2019). It lasts 30-35 minutes, including wrap-up and Q&A. It is appropriate for professionals at all levels, and for staff.
Competencies:
-Promote peak performance and productivity with time- and mind-management strategies
-Reduce stress and anxiety to stay well mentally and physically
-Improve decision-making and delegation skills
-Enhance creative problem-solving
Summary: In our days and careers, we have too many things to do. It feels like we don’t have enough time, but really, we have too many responsibilities. In order to have enough time to handle it all, we must learn to transform our relationship with time by narrowing what we must do, changing the way we think about time, setting better goals, and delegating effectively. In this Workshop, participants improve their relationship with time and enhance their time management skills through individual exercises focusing on effective tools and actionable techniques to manage competing responsibilities.
Exercises & Explorations:
--“168-Hour Week” exercise to explore how to distribute competing responsibilities over time
--Exploration of “Time Transformation” language
--“The 3 B’s” exercise to determine which tasks to Bag (i.e. to drop), to Barter (i.e. to delegate), or to Better (i.e. to handle personally in a way that makes it easier) so that participants can reduce their low-worth responsibilities and focus on high-worth activities
Wrap-Up: What to Do Today and Q&A
This Wrap-Up guides participants to create an action plan based upon the tools and techniques taught in the Workshop. We end with a question and answer session.
